Melissa Graham is a Phd student under the supervision of Susan Foster and John Baker at Clark University. Her research uses an integrative approach to study evolutionary change and plastic responses to varying intensities of environmental stressors. She considers population differences in behavior, hormone levels, and gene expression of reproductive females, and is particularly interested in the impact of evolved and plastic maternal responses on the development of offspring. She takes advantage of the astounding variation seen among freshwater three-spine stickleback fish populations to study evolutionary processes in a natural system.
